In 2017, the residents started building their dream house, which is full of special symbolism. The house contains seven colors, and the number seven is a lucky number in China and the Netherlands. The four sides of the house represent the four seasons: spring on the front, summer on the left, autumn on the back and winter on the right. The ground floor is furnished as a museum for contemporary, realistic art. The residents themselves live on the first floor. The collection of the museum consists largely of paintings by the resident herself, and there are also regular exhibitions of well-known artists from the Netherlands and abroad. Colorfast western red cedar was used for the outer wall. This wood is sturdy, resilient and highly resistant to decay and weathering.
