Is the wooden skyscraper revolution finally here?

The British PLP Architecture made a proposal for the construction of three wooden skyscrapers, including a 300m high tower in the centre of London (see digital image). It looks wonderful! Proponents of solid wood claim that these towers, contrary to existing alternatives, can be built faster, are stronger, and perhaps most surprisingly, safer in case of fire. Wood burns in a predictable way, similar to a large block of wood that is placed on a campfire.
